Air Quality
Air Quality
There's more to home comfort than temperature. Our Indoor Air Quality options help you and your
family breathe easier with cleaner, healthier indoor air.
Select up to 3 health and system-improving Indoor Air Quality options.
1. PREMIUM MEDIA AIR FILTER
When the heating or cooling equipment turns on, the air in your home travels through the registers and return duct(s) to the heating and cooling equipment where it is conditioned and sent back into the rooms of your house through the supply ducts. Small particles from numerous sources are suspended in your home’s air, just as they are suspended in the air outdoors. The largest of these particles will eventually come to rest and appear as dust. Smaller particles may come to rest, but with even the slightest disturbance will re-suspend into the air. These particles are very small, and come from natural sources such as dust and pollen and from manmade sources such as tobacco smoke or exhaust. The air cleaner is installed on or near the furnace or air handler and removes the particles that travel with the air that circulates through your heating and cooling system. Removing these particles keeps the equipment components clean and more importantly removes particles from the air you breathe. Particles are measured in microns, which is a unit of measure used for very small things (1 micron = 1/25,400 inch). For reference, the diameter of a human hair is approximately 100 microns

2. WHOLE-HOUSE HUMIDIFIER
Whole-Home Humidifiers use a natural evaporation process to generate comfortable humidity. Water flows through an evaporative pad and warm air from the furnace is drawn through it. This creates the pure water vapor that your HVAC system circulates throughout your home for optimum comfort.
Healthier air for a healthier family.
Bacteria, viruses and respiratory infections are more abundant in very dry conditions. That’s one reason why it is so important to maintain proper levels of humidity, to avoid an overly dry environment.
See savings you’ll be comfortable with.
Lower temperatures with proper humidity levels are more comfortable than, for example, dry air with a temperature that is 3 degrees higher. So let your humidifier add the necessary moisture and reduce your thermostat setting by 3 degrees to save as much as 5% on your heating bill.
Protect your precious furnishings.
Properly humidified air will protect valuables like fine art, musical instruments, leather and precious antiques. It also keeps wooden floors and the woodwork around doors and windows from cracking.
3. UV DISINFECTION SYSTEM
Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation has been used by hospitals and restaurants for years to help disinfect and prevent the spread of germs. Honeywell ultraviolet treatment systems apply UV technology to your heating and cooling system to zap and kill airborne and surface contaminants, helping you create a better home environment for your family.
The UV Light mounts inside your system near the indoor coil where mold and microbes may grow. Once activated, the ultraviolet light goes right to work. By using penetrating ultraviolet rays that disrupt the DNA an organism needs to reproduce, the UV light actually destroys microbial growth, resulting in a cleaner indoor coil and purer air..
